Cairo: Assistant Director-General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Feras Al-Awda, emphasized the importance of bolstering Kuwaiti-Egyptian cooperation in investment and trade, particularly within the private sector. He made this statement to KUNA following the conclusion of the Egyptian-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum, held under the patronage of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Awda affirmed Kuwait's commitment to participating in events aimed at exchanging expertise and enhancing economic cooperation. He highlighted the Kuwaiti private sector's interest in expanding investment and trade with Egypt, noting the longstanding and strong cooperation between the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, reinforced through meetings, forums, and joint cooperation protocols.
Al-Awda stated that the Kuwaiti private sector was among the first Gulf investors in Egypt, adding that Kuwaiti investors have confidence in Egypt's opportunities, as demonstrated by the size of Kuwaiti delegations attending joint economic events. He stressed that Kuwaiti private sector participation extends beyond representation to actively seeking genuine investment opportunities and exchanging expertise through forums and bilateral meetings.
The forum was jointly organized by Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the GCC Secretariat-General, in cooperation with Egypt's Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the Federation of Gulf Chambers, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones. Kuwait's delegation to the forum was led by Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel and included Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Ambassador Sami Al-Hamad, Kuwait's Ambassador to Egypt Ghanim Al-Ghanim, and representatives from the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
