Kuwait city: A representative of the State of Kuwait Ministry of Interior has emphasized the necessity for intensified pan-Arab collaboration to address the challenges of terrorism and extremism. Brigadier General Dabbous Mohammad Al-Dabbous, speaking on behalf of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, led the inaugural session of the 28th meeting of Arab officials focused on counter-terrorism and radicalism efforts.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Brig. Gen. Al-Dabbous highlighted Kuwait's commitment to reinforcing joint Arab security initiatives. He underscored the significant threat that terrorism and extremism pose globally, including to Arab nations. The meeting took place at the Secretariat General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, where Al-Dabbous stressed the importance of overcoming issues such as cultural confrontations, strife, and insecurity, which terrorist organizations exploit to spread radical ideologies.
During the session, Mohammad Koman, the council's secretary general, urged Arab countries to enhance their counter-extremism measures in adherence to the revised Arab strategy for combating terrorism, established in 2022. Koman emphasized the impact of disrupting financial channels to terrorist groups, which has weakened their capabilities in recruitment, armament, and logistical support. He also highlighted the importance of adopting new technologies, including artificial intelligence, in the fight against terrorism.
The Kuwaiti delegation at the meeting, in addition to Brig. Gen. Al-Dabbous, included Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Al-Amir and Major Mohammad Al-Osaimi.
