Kuwaiti Charity Sponsors 1,000 Syrian Refugee Students in Lebanon

Kuwait city: Kuwait International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) announced Thursday its sponsorship of 1,000 Syrian refugee students enrolled in its charitable schools in Lebanon for the 2024-2025 academic year. The initiative, carried out in cooperation with Kuwaiti Humanitarian Excellence Association and the Lebanese Association for Scientific Research, is part of IICO's efforts to provide quality educational opportunities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, IICO Deputy Director General for Institutional Communication Ibrahim Al-Bader stated that the project reflects Kuwait's ongoing humanitarian commitment, providing full educational support including school supplies, transportation, and extracurricular programs. The initiative has also created 45 jobs for qualified teachers and administrators, contributing to reducing school dropout rates and curbing "child begging", while reinforcing moral and cultural values among refugee children.

Al-Bader emphasized the program's focus on students' psychological well-being and integration, affirming IICO's continued support for education-focused humanitarian projects.
