Kuwaiti Charity Constructs 175 Houses for Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh

Al Asimah: Kuwait's International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) has successfully constructed 175 houses equipped with solar-powered utilities to accommodate 1,050 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, according to a statement released by the charity.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the IICO announced that the construction endeavor cost approximately USD 104,000. The primary goal of this initiative is to offer protection to Rohingya families by providing them with safe and environmentally friendly housing solutions. The houses, constructed from bamboo, plastic, and cement, are designed to withstand environmental challenges, with each unit occupying a 16-square-meter area.

The Kuwaiti charity has expressed its intention to expand its humanitarian partnerships with international organizations. It highlighted that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in 2000 to assist the Rohingyas and other vulnerable groups globally.
