Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Cabinet was informed on Tuesday about the key points of the official discussions conducted between His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and French President Emmanuel Macron during the Amir's visit to Paris on July 13-14. This update was delivered during the Cabinet meeting at Bayan Palace, led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as reported by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions emphasized the longstanding relations between Kuwait and France, focusing on enhancing and developing these ties across various sectors for mutual benefit. The leaders also engaged in consultations and coordination on significant issues of shared interest, as well as recent regional and international developments.
The Cabinet was also briefed on the signing of a declaration of content between Kuwait and France, witnessed by His Highness the Amir and President Macron. This declaration seeks to strengthen cultural collaboration and commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2026.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of His Highness the Amir's meeting with French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad, Laurent Saint-Martin, highlighting the importance of supporting investment opportunities in key sectors. The ministers were also informed about communications from leaders of friendly and allied countries regarding enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation with Kuwait.
The session included a visual presentation by President of Government Performance Follow-Up Agency Sheikh Ahmad Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the 2024 annual report, covering ministerial decisions, government projects, and adherence to Cabinet resolution No. 713 of 2024. Another presentation by Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajail focused on the second part of the third phase of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) system development project, a key element of Kuwait's development plan.
Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi presented on Kuwait's cultural path project. This initiative aims to enhance Kuwait's cultural and tourist appeal, preserving historical memory and promoting national awareness. It aligns with Kuwait Vision 2035, aiming to establish Kuwait as a cultural and tourist hub.
The Cabinet decided to forward this project to a ministerial committee for further study, concluding with the approval of other agenda items.
