Kuwaiti 64th Football Premier League Kicks Off with Exciting Matches

Kuwait city: The 64th edition of the Kuwaiti Premier League, also known as the Zain League, is set to commence on Friday with two exciting matches. Al-Jahra will compete against Al-Fahaheel at Mubarak Al-Ayyar Stadium, while Al-Arabi will host Al-Shabab at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the first round of the 2025-2026 season will continue on Saturday with Al-Qadisiyah facing Al-Nasr at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium. Al-Tadhamon will go head-to-head with Al-Kuwait at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. The first round will wrap up on Sunday when Al-Salmiya hosts Kadhma at Thamer Stadium.

The league, consisting of 10 clubs, will follow the same format as the previous season. The first stage will feature a two-legged format, with clubs divided into two groups after the rounds while retaining their points. The Kuwaiti League has been a part of the country's sports fabric since its inception in the 1961-1962 season. Kuwait SC leads the titles tally with 20 championships, followed by Al-Arabi and Al-Qadisiya with 17 each. Al-Salmiya and Kadhma have four titles each, and Al-Jahra SC has won once.
