Kuwait Welcomes UN Resolution to Extend UNRWA Mandate

Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday welcomed a recent United Nations (UN) resolution to extend the mandate of the UN refugee agency (UNRWA) by three more years until 2029. In a press statement, the ministry highlighted the significance of the UN's decision, emphasizing the continuation of the agency's role in providing essential humanitarian services to Palestinian refugees in its areas of operation.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry noted that the resolution demonstrates the international community's solidarity and commitment to supporting the rights of Palestinian refugees. The decision is seen as an affirmation of the importance of UNRWA's ongoing humanitarian missions.

The ministry reiterated Kuwait's steadfast stance and support for UNRWA, as well as international efforts to empower the agency in its mission to continue delivering humanitarian services to Palestinian refugees.
