Kuwait Welcomes UK’s Recognition of State of Palestine

Kuwait City: The State of Kuwait has expressed its approval of the recent announcement by the British Prime Minister regarding the UK's intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the significance of this decision in fostering progress toward a two-state solution.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the statement made by Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Ministry emphasized that this move aligns with the provisions of relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. It further stated that such recognition is pivotal for empowering the Palestinian people in their quest for self-determination and establishing an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Ministry's statement also urged other countries to follow suit, advocating for similar actions to achieve a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue. The call to action underscores the importance of international solidarity in resolving longstanding conflicts and realizing peace in the region.
