Doha: The Kuwaiti weightlifting team achieved notable success by securing nine bronze medals at the West Asia Championship, which featured competitions for juniors, youths, and seniors. Additionally, the team earned three identical trophies at the Arab Youth Competition, both events being hosted in Doha.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Mohammad Karam was a standout performer, winning three bronze medals in the 71 kg category at the West Asia Championship. His teammate, Issa Al-Shaher, matched this achievement by earning an equal number of medals in both the Arab Championship and the West Asia competition.
Doha was the venue for the launch of three significant weightlifting events, including the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025, the Arab Weightlifting Championship, and the West Asia Weightlifting Championship. These events, catering to youth, juniors, and seniors, drew participants from across the region.
