Kuwait University Marks 58 Years of Advancing Human Resource Development in Kuwait.

Kuwait City: Kuwait University commemorates its 58th anniversary, highlighting its critical role since 1966 in supporting Kuwait's development plans by focusing on human resource investment, promoting scientific research, and preparing a qualified workforce. In a press statement marking the occasion, Acting President of Kuwait University, Dr. Osama Al-Saeed, described November 27, 1966, as a transformative day in Kuwait's educational journey, noting the university's establishment as a significant milestone in the country's history. According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Saeed emphasized that Kuwait University has become a cornerstone for nurturing national talent and leadership across various disciplines, contributing to the nation's development. With support from Kuwait's leadership, the university has expanded to include 16 colleges in both scientific and humanities fields at the Sabah Al-Salem University City, an important academic campus. Dr. Al-Saeed expressed aspirations for a brighter academic future by enhancing educational processes and building national capabilities, aligning with Kuwait's Vision 2035. Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Dr. Mieshari Al-Eifan, highlighted the scientific and academic accomplishments of Kuwait University, stating that its establishment marked the beginning of an important journey that continues to contribute to society. Dr. Al-Eifan added that Kuwait University remains a beacon of knowledge, with a mission focused on cultivating educated individuals capable of addressing modern challenges. He stated that the university recognizes the importance of keeping pace with rapid modern advancements by providing an educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation. The modern facilities at Kuwait University align with elements of progress, reflecting Kuwait's commitment to advancing scientific development and supporting the ambitions of Kuwaiti youth in tackling new scientific challenges. Kuwait University, the first public research university in Kuwait, was established with the issuance of Law No. 29 of 1966, concerning the regulation of higher education. The founding of the Colleges of Science, Arts, Education, and Women's College under the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah marked the university's beginning. The opening of the Sabah Al-Salem University City campus in Al-Shadadiya, spanning approximately six million square meters and designed to accommodate more than 40,000 students, has further enhanced Kuwait University's ability to fulfill its national, scientific, and humanitarian responsibilities.
