Kuwait city: The West Asian Modern Pentathlon Confederation (WAMPC) has selected Kuwait as the host nation for its inaugural regional championship scheduled for November 2026.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this decision was confirmed by the WAMPC on Saturday, marking a significant milestone for Kuwait in the realm of modern pentathlon.
President of the Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Federation and Vice President of WAMPC, Nasser Al-Waleed, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting that the selection underscores WAMPC’s confidence in Kuwait’s capabilities in organizing and managing high-level sports events. Al-Waleed acknowledged the support from WAMPC officials and emphasized that the competition will feature five key sports: fencing, swimming, obstacle course racing, running, and laser pistol shooting.
Al-Waleed also extended his appreciation to Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, along with Chairman of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad, and the Public Authority for Sports. Their backing has been instrumental in the Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Federation’s efforts and the nation’s athletes’ achievements on the international stage over the past three years.
