Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, emphasized that people with disabilities are an integral part of society and active contributors to the country’s development. This statement was made during the International Day of Persons with Disabilities event organized by the Public Authority for Disability Affairs (PADA).
According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Al-Huwailah underscored the significance of enhancing efforts to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and to bolster their active participation in society. The Minister highlighted that the State of Kuwait has prioritized disability issues, referencing law (8) from 2010, which aims to provide a comprehensive system of rights and services to help individuals with disabilities achieve their aspirations.
PADA official Dr. Shaima Al-Qattan noted that the annual ceremony aims to showcase the talents and creativity of people with disabilities. She stated that the event, organi
zed in collaboration with over 16 concerned entities, offers a platform for individuals with disabilities to learn about the efforts made to provide them with improved services.
Bahraini Ambassador to Kuwait, Salah Al-Malki, praised Kuwait’s initiatives in supporting people with disabilities, stating that these efforts convey a strong message of empowerment.
