Kuwait Shooting Team Claims Nine Medals at Arab Shooting Championship

Kuwait city: Kuwait's national shooting team concluded their participation in the Arab Pistol and Rifle Shooting Championship in Muscat with a total of nine medals.

According to Kuwait News Agency, these medals include one gold, three silver, and five bronze, as reported by Obaid Al-Osaimi, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation and Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting federations.

The final day of the championship saw the men's rifle team secure a silver medal. The team, consisting of shooters Khaled Al-Majed, Turki Al-Shammari, and Ali Al-Mutairi, finished behind the host nation Oman, while Bahrain claimed third place. Al-Osaimi noted that Al-Majed also won an individual bronze medal in the same event.

In the women's events, Kuwaiti shooters Maryam Rzouqi, Ritaj Al-Ziyadi, and Fajer Al-Dhubaib earned a bronze medal in the team competition. Bahrain took the gold and Oman secured the silver. Rzouqi further added to Kuwait's medal count by winning an individual bronze.

Al-Osaimi dedicated the team's success to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, acknowledging their support for the Kuwaiti shooting club. He also extended his gratitude to Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, as well as the Public Authority for Sport, for their backing of the Kuwaiti Shooting Federation.

He emphasized that the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club will continue striving for further accomplishments at both regional and international levels, while also commending the efforts of the Omani organizing committee.
