Kuwait Seeks Stronger Ties with Asian Nations Through Dialogue Forum

Kuwait city: Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Samih Hayat, expressed Kuwait's commitment to fostering greater cooperation and dialogue with Asian countries. His remarks were made during the 23rd anniversary celebration of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum in Kuwait, attended by numerous diplomatic and international organization leaders.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Hayat highlighted that the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum, initiated in 2002, was rooted in Kuwait's desire to enhance collaboration with Asian nations. The forum aims to integrate various regional organizations, such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Hayat also mentioned Kuwait's goal to elevate the forum into an internationally influential organization. This ambition was presented at the third summit of the forum in Doha last October. He noted Kuwait's dedication to advancing this proposal swiftly, appreciating the support from Asian member states, which bolsters cooperation, partnership, and dialogue globally.

Ambassador Nasser Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General of the Asian Dialogue Forum, reiterated the forum's commitment to fostering collaboration among member states. The forum focuses on six pillars: communication, science, technology, innovation, education and human resource development, interconnectedness of food, water, and energy security, culture, tourism, and the promotion of comprehensive and sustainable development.
