Kuwait School Teams Vie for Amir Cup

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti high school teams, via TV Show "With Students", vied for His Highness the Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's Cup. Speaking to KUNA, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said he was pleased to attend this 13-episode program that targets school students who represent the present and bright future of Kuwait.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the minister commended His Highness the Amir's patronage of this student championship as reflecting his support for young people and his belief in their role in building the future and Kuwait's backing of giftedness and creativity. He added that the idea and educational and media goals of the event mark a model of merging education and media, making awareness, contributing to boosting students' skills, developing their competitive spirit, and bolstering their capabilities of expression and creativity in a safe environment.

The minister described this event as being part of the ministry's vision of promoting societal partnership and state institutions' role integration. Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, also speaking to KUNA, hailed the efforts of VO Company in organizing the TV Show "With Students" and touted its level as combining pleasure and learning. He regarded it as one of the best TV shows since it aligns with students' thinking and studies, appreciating participating students' competitive edge.

For her part, Chairwoman of VO Company Sheikha Ohoud Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah said the program marks the first-of-its-kind partnership between VO Company and the ministries of information and education. She said this experiment is deemed an example of cooperation between both public and private sectors in supporting youth and educational programs. The grand prize is worth KD 4,000 for each student of the winning team, while each student of the second-ranked team will receive KD 1,000, provided by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
