Kuwait City: Kuwait SC defeated Uzbekistan’s Nasaf 2-1 on Wednesday in the fifth round of Group D matches in the AFC Champions League 2. Nasaf initially took the lead with a goal by Zoran Marusic in the 43rd minute of the first half. However, Kuwait SC made a comeback with a penalty kick scored by Yahya Jabran in the 47th minute, followed by a second goal from Amr Abdel Fattah in the 55th minute.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait SC’s victory brings them to third place in their group with a total of five points. Meanwhile, Nasaf remains in fourth place with four points. Al-Hussein Irbid of Jordan currently leads the group with nine points, and Shabab Al-Ahli is in second place with seven points. The teams in the first and second positions will advance to the round of 16 in the tournament.
