Kuwait city: Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, reaffirmed Kuwait's firm commitment to the principles and objectives of the UN Charter, as well as its continued support for efforts to promote global peace, security, development, and human rights.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Al-Hayen emphasized Kuwait's steadfast policy of supporting multilateralism and strengthening diplomacy under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He highlighted Kuwait's advocacy for dialogue, understanding, and bridge-building among nations.

Ambassador Al-Hayen pointed out Kuwait's leading role within the Human Rights Council, where it chairs the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) group, actively participating in initiatives promoting human rights and international law. He reiterated Kuwait's belief that promoting human dignity is essential for genuine and sustainable development.

He noted Kuwait's active participation across various UN agencies reflects its commitment to international cooperation in humanitarian, health, environmental, and economic fields. He also mentioned the international community's recognition of Kuwait's role in humanitarian and relief work, earning it the designation as the "Humanitarian Center" and its late Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the title of "Humanitarian Leader" by the United Nations.

Ambassador Al-Hayen stressed that humanitarian action remains a shared language between Kuwait and the United Nations, forming a key pillar of Kuwait's foreign policy. He remarked that the United Nations provides a framework for maintaining international peace and security, addressing global challenges, and assisting populations affected by conflicts and natural disasters.

Furthermore, Al-Hayen reaffirmed Kuwait's support for the Palestinian cause, asserting that a just and lasting peace in the Middle East requires an end to the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination. He advocated for the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
