Kuwait City: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah reaffirmed on Monday Kuwait’s commitment to empowering women in sustainable development, highlighting their achievements across various sectors with political leadership support. Minister Al-Huwailah made this statement following the launch of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), held from March 10 to 21, with the participation of 45 countries to discuss women’s empowerment and equity issues.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the 69th session aims to review the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, recognized as the most effective global framework for advancing women’s rights. The commission focused on social development, supporting family stability, and promoting women’s participation in scientific and technological fields. It also urged the UN to expand technical support for women’s empowerment, especially in developing countries.
