Kuwait PM Chairs Ministerial Committee Meeting on China Agreements

Kuwait city: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired a ministerial committee meeting at Bayan Palace, focusing on the agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with China. The meeting aimed to review and follow up on significant joint initiatives between Kuwait and China.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the 21st meeting of the committee discussed the progress of several key projects. These included the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, developments in renewable energy, housing initiatives, and the advancement of environmental infrastructure for sewage treatment plants. The meeting also covered eco-friendly recycling, cooperation in combating desertification, and sustainable agriculture.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and Committee Rapporteur Ambassador Sameeh Johar Hayat provided a comprehensive briefing on the implementation status of the Kuwait-China agreements and MoUs. Attendees of the meeting included Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari, and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem. Also present were Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Acting Head of the Prime Minister's Diwan Sheikh Khaled Mohammed Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, and Head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department Counselor Salah Ateeq Al-Majed.
