Kuwait PM Chairs Meeting on Progress of Agreements with China

Kuwait city: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah presided over a ministerial committee meeting at Bayan Palace to review the status of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with China. The meeting focused on the progress of various collaborative initiatives between Kuwait and China, which include major projects like the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, renewable energy, housing, environmental infrastructure for sewage treatment, eco-friendly recycling, and cooperation in combating desertification and sustainable agriculture.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of coordination with Chinese state companies on significant development projects and encouraged expanded investment. He acknowledged the efforts under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. During the meeting, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and member and rapporteur of the Ministerial Committee, Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat, shared the outcomes of recent visits by three delegations from Chinese government companies to Kuwait. The discussions highlighted the mutual interest and commitment from both sides to enhance cooperation and accelerate the implementation of major development projects in Kuwait.

The meeting also featured inputs from key officials including Head of the Prime Minister's Diwan Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works and Acting Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan, and other prominent members of the ministerial committee. The collaboration aims to leverage global expertise from Chinese companies for Kuwait's strategic development projects.
