Kuwait Participates in Arab League Meeting to Support Somalia

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi, participated in a meeting with other Arab countries focusing on assisting Somalia in building its institutions and strengthening its stability and security. According to Kuwait News Agency, Somalia's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Ali Abdi, stated that the meeting focused on ways to enhance Somalia's national institutions. This initiative aims to aid the country in its journey towards sustainable development and increased engagement with Arab, regional, and international partners. Abdi expressed gratitude for the significant role played by Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries in supporting Somalia. He emphasized that this support reflects the historical and fraternal ties among these nations and demonstrates the unwavering commitment of Arab countries to Somalia. Abdi noted that Somalia is currently experiencing a new phase of development, with noticeable improvements in security and on going progress in building state institutions. He highlighted developments in infrastructure, ports, energy, education, and basic services, which are expected to strengthen sustainable development foundations and achieve economic prosperity. Abdi also expressed hope for continued support from Arab countries to help Somalia complete its national priorities and enhance its development and institutional capabilities.
