Kuwait City: Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) unveiled a mural commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations with Australia, marking a significant cultural initiative. The artwork is a collaboration between renowned Australian muralist Sophi Odling and Kuwaiti artist Sheikha Al-Abaidli, aiming to foster a thriving local arts scene, as stated by NCCAL chief Dr. Mohammad Al-Jassar. He emphasized the importance of such "cultural exchanges" as part of a broader national program. According to Kuwait News Agency, the mural represents the growing relationship between Kuwait and Australia, and showcases the vibrant art scenes of both countries. Australian ambassador to Kuwait, Melissa Kelly, noted that the mural reflects the strengthening ties between the two nations. The artwork is located at the entrance of Kuwait's Al-Mubarakiya heritage market and seeks to celebrate both Kuwaiti and Australian cultures. NCAAL's acting chief for antiquities and museums, Mohammad bin Ridha, mentione d that such artworks contribute to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of streets nationwide. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Australia. The two countries have also made significant progress in trade and investment ties, as demonstrated by various activities organized by the Australian embassy to highlight these developments.
