Abu Dhabi: Director General of the GCC Joint Program Productions Institution Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirmed on Sunday the importance of keeping up to date with the latest developments in media and its future in the region. According to Kuwait News Agency, this statement was made during a meeting between Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah and Chairman of the National Media Office Sheikh Abdullah Al Hamed, held while participating in the Global Media Congress (GMC) hosted by Abu Dhabi. They discussed joint cooperation and recommendations to enhance Gulf performance and efficiency in the media sector. The statement quoted Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah as emphasizing the significance of the GMC for reviewing the latest media developments, particularly in technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. He noted that the conference addressed opportunities and challenges in the media field and gathered a distinguished group of experts, specialists, and media leaders from various spheres. The third edition of the Global Media Congress 2024 kicked off on Tuesday with international participation, including Kuwait, under the patronage of the UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event aims to bring together media leaders, experts, and innovators to explore the latest trends and opportunities in the industry. The congress seeks to enhance international cooperation in the media sector, share global best practices, and establish strategic partnerships to drive its development.
