Kuwait MoI Arrests Ring Involved in Manipulating Draws

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior (MoI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, announced on Monday the successful busting of a ring involved in controlling the results of draws.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry's investigations led to the identification of a person seen in a video posted on social media manipulating draw results.

The individual, a citizen and head of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's draws department, exploited his authority to systematically manipulate several companies' prize draws. He ensured specific individuals would win in exchange for financial benefits.

Investigations uncovered that the ring employed precise measures to manipulate multiple draws. It was revealed that an Arab woman and her husband won several prizes through these systematic manipulations. With legal permission, security teams arrested the citizen and the couple who were attempting to flee the country.

The woman admitted her involvement, stating she joined the scheme through her husband, who was connected to a colleague suggesting participation in the manipulated draws. The statement highlighted that the colleague of the woman's husband and a Caribbean man, both involved, left Kuwait on March 1 and March 23, respectively, and are currently being pursued through Interpol.

The ministry mentioned that other winners involved in similar manipulations are under investigation. It confirmed its commitment to pursuing individuals found involved in corruption or manipulation of laws or systems, pledging to impose severe legal punishments and bring them to justice.
