Kuwait Minister Commends Government’s Support for Jaafari Endowments

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi has praised the government's commitment to the care of Jaafari endowments, describing it as a "source of pride". The minister made these remarks during a keynote speech at the 10th Jaafari Endowments Forum, a one-day event held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and organized by the General Secretariat of Endowments.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Wasmi emphasized that Kuwait has become a model of humanitarianism and good citizenship by promoting principles against intolerance and sectarianism. He highlighted the country's success in ensuring effective management and care of endowments, celebrating 20 years since the establishment of the Jaafari Endowments Administration under the General Secretariat of Endowments.

The minister noted that the secretariat has achieved significant accomplishments both domestically and internationally, marking a significant advancement in the endowment sector in Kuwait. He also described the government's efforts as a pioneering step to rejuvenate endowments across various domains, aiming to position Kuwait as a global humanitarian hub through its diverse administrations, funds, projects, and banks that contribute to societal development and global relief efforts.

Director of Jaafari Endowments Administration Tareq Al-Habeeb also spoke at the forum, emphasizing that the agency focuses on increasing endowment revenues and expanding their scope. He stated that the goal is to strengthen the role of Jaafari endowments as a sustainable institution operating within legal frameworks, aiming to achieve sustainable earnings and develop social, humanitarian, cultural, and developmental projects.
