Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan visited the site of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island, accompanied by Chinese Deputy Minister of Transport Fu Xueyin, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Hayat, and Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Zhang Jianwei.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the visit aimed to follow up on the contract for studying, designing, and providing pre-execution services for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project. The visit was intended to review the latest developments related to the contract, which is set to officially commence on March 16, 2025.
The project is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Kuwait and China in September 2023. It serves as a precursor to a series of future contracts between the two nations, highlighting their cooperative relationship.
The current contract encompasses activities such as the review and completion of specific designs for the port project. It also includes presenting a comprehensive plan for the implementation and operation of the port.
