Kuwait lists 1,119 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday recording 1,119 new coronavirus infections and two deaths caused by contamination with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The new figures took total the cases tally to 294,693 and deaths to 1,703 respectively, noted the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad in a statement to KUNA.

He said 1,016 more people were cured of the virus over the past day, raising the total of those who overcame the respiratory infectious disease to 280,940.

He has added that the number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 12,050 with 185 of them in intensive care units (ICUs).

Dr. Al-Sanad revealed that some 9,716 swab tests were conducted over the last day, bringing the total of such examinations to 2,487,024.

He renewed calls for nationals and expatriates alike to abide by health precautions to curb spread of the contagion.
