Kuwait Launches Comprehensive Reference for Disability 2025

Kuwait City: Minister of Social Affairs, Family Affairs and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah has announced the launch of the "Kuwait Reference for Disability 2025," emphasizing the country's commitment to both national legislation and international agreements regarding disability. This initiative highlights Kuwait's dedication to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the minister emphasized that the launch is in line with Law 73/2020, which mandates the establishment of clear scientific standards for diagnosing disabilities. The law requires the Public Authority for Disability Affairs to disseminate this information on its website. The reference is a product of a decade-long collaborative effort, involving experts from the United Nations, the World Health Organization, as well as medical and technical committees from the disability affairs authority and Ministry of Health specialists.

The "Kuwait Reference for Disability 2025" provides detailed guidelines for assessing various impairments, including mental, psychological, physical, mobility, visual, and audio challenges. Its goal is to aid specialists in making informed decisions, standardize procedures, and support professionals working in diagnosis, education, and employment sectors for individuals with impairments.
