Kuwait Interior Min. Chairs Citizenship Cmte Meeting

Kuwait city: The Supreme Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship convened on Thursday under the leadership of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. The meeting focused on issues pertaining to the revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship for certain individuals.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Interior issued a statement detailing the revocation of citizenship from individuals based on violations of the Citizenship Law. One person lost their citizenship due to holding dual nationality, which is in violation of Articles 10 and 11 of the law. Another individual faced revocation for acquiring citizenship through forgery and fraud. Additionally, one person's citizenship was revoked in the state's "higher interest."

The Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations governing citizenship and reiterated its commitment to enforcing the law to maintain the country's integrity and security. The committee's decisions are part of ongoing efforts to uphold the principles outlined in Kuwaiti legislation.
