Kuwait Info. Min. Meets National Team After Loss to Jordan in Arab Football Cup

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Minister of Information, Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Almutairi, met with the national football team in the chambers of Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium following their defeat to the Jordanian team. The match, part of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, ended in favor of "Al-Nashama" with a score of 1-3.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Al-Mutairi expressed confidence in the team's potential and performance for the upcoming match against the UAE in the finals of the tournament. He conveyed gratitude to the players and the technical and administrative teams for their spirit. Additionally, he acknowledged the Kuwaiti spectators who supported the national team at the stadium.

The match was part of the second round of Group C and took place at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. Jordan's Muhannad Mahmoud scored a goal in the 17th minute with a kick from outside the penalty zone, leading to a first-half conclusion with Jordan ahead. In the second half, Saad Al-Rosan added a second goal for Jordan. Kuwaiti player Yusuf Nasser managed to narrow the result with a goal in the 84th minute, but Jordan secured their victory with a penalty kick in the final moments.

Kuwait currently holds the third position in the group with one point, while Jordan leads with six points, securing their place in the 8th round. Kuwait is scheduled to play against the UAE in the group's final match on Tuesday, while Egypt will face Jordan.
