Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait hosted the 17th meeting of the permanent committee for strategic security planning within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This meeting took place on the sidelines of a workshop focused on developing a GCC strategy to combat money laundering.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated that the meeting included representatives from the interior ministries of GCC states, the back-up secretariat for GCC security affairs, and police. The meeting was chaired by Jurist Brigadier General Salem Al-Ajmi, with participation from a delegation led by Colonel Abdulaziz Al-Barrak.
The officers in attendance discussed several topics, including monitoring joint security strategies and challenges, improving coordination and integration mechanisms among GCC security apparatuses, and addressing regional and international security challenges. The meeting aligned with the GCC's ongoing efforts to enhance joint security tasks and strengthen the unified Gulf strategy for maintaining the security and stability of the council's member countries.
