Kuwait Hosts First UAE World Falcon Racing Cup

Kuwait city: The UAE World Falcon Racing Cup commenced in Kuwait on Thursday, marking the first time the event is held outside the United Arab Emirates. The championship is being organized under the supervision of UAE's and International Falconry Federations, with the support and patronage of Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Kuwait's Minister of Information, Culture and State for Youth Affairs.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Saif Al-Shallahi, Chairman of the Board for the Kuwaiti Falconers' Association, highlighted that the event will run until December 7 and includes seven races featuring falcons that are under one year old. This significant move to host the championship in Kuwait follows the directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The championships are being held at the Kuwait Camel Racing Club grounds, where prizes worth half a million dirhams, approximately KD 40,000, have been allocated to promote and preserve the traditional sport of falconry. Al-Shallahi emphasized that falconry is a unifying Gulf heritage that plays a significant role in the identity and traditions of past generations.
