Kuwait city: The 115th ministerial meeting of the Arab Energy Organization (AEO) began on Sunday, led by Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi. The meeting assembled AEO member states to discuss organizational priorities and coordination in light of rapid global energy developments.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting comes at a crucial time for the organization as global energy sector transformations demand closer coordination, unified visions, and sustained cooperation among member states. These efforts aim to support market stability and enhance the organization's regional and international standing.
Al-Roumi highlighted that the agenda includes discussions on the proposed 2026 estimated budget, a review of the latest developments related to advancing the organization's work, and updates on the project to modernize internal regulations and bylaws. Additionally, ministers will assess progress and initiatives, as well as developments in the oil and energy sectors and the responsibilities these changes impose on member states.
He reiterated Kuwait's full support for initiatives undertaken by the AEO to develop its work and integrate member states, in line with the country's political leadership and Kuwait's role in supporting Arab energy cooperation. Al-Roumi praised the General Secretariat for organizing the meeting and expressed hope that its outcomes would strengthen joint Arab action and contribute to a stable and sustainable future for the energy sector.
Jamal Al-Loughani, AEO's Chief, expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti government for hosting the meetings and supporting the organization's activities. He commended Al-Roumi for facilitating the ministerial session. Al-Loughani noted that the General Secretariat has been implementing a development project since a ministerial council decision, with a specialized committee and Executive Bureau supervision. He emphasized the council's role in coordinating policies and efforts to build a supportive framework for the organization's future, appreciating its guidance and support.
