Kuwait Health Ministry Focuses on Enhancing Cancer Treatment Services

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi affirmed the ministry's commitment to developing cancer treatment services and enhancing care quality for citizens and residents, within broader efforts to advance oncology systems and improve efficiency. This announcement was made during his chairmanship of an expanded meeting with the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Cancer Control Center to discuss relocation plans and maximize international expertise under a memorandum of understanding signed previously.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Awadhi stated that cooperation with France's Gustave Roussy Hospital represents a strategic addition, strengthening training, treatment, and research capabilities, while reflecting full ministerial support for continuous development initiatives nationwide. The statement highlighted that the meeting included participation of Board members, during which the latest developments related to the new center project and implementation timelines were comprehensively reviewed by senior officials and specialists.

Participants also reviewed preparations and plans for logistical, technical, and operational equipment to ensure a smooth transfer to the new location while maintaining uninterrupted cancer treatment services. The meeting addressed mechanisms to activate cooperation with Gustave Roussy Hospital, including expertise transfer, scientific exchanges, training national specialists, updating protocols, supporting early diagnosis, and enhancing psychosocial care aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035 health sector.
