Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi reaffirmed on Saturday the ministry’s keenness to keep pace with the latest technological developments in various fields, especially in the treatment of cancer patients. This commitment was highlighted during his address at the Middle East Regional Conference on Medical Physics, organized by the Middle East Federation of Medical Physics (MEFOMP) along with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Kuwait Women’s Health Association. The event is hosted by the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC).
According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministry aims to develop the capabilities of national human cadres and provide them with training on the latest technologies. Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized the role of the KCCC as a leading regional center, which offers care for cancer patients and employs over 600 qualified employees in the field of oncology. Dr. Al-Awadhi also announced the upcoming opening of a new cancer center, equipped with advanced radiotherapy devices and imaging technology. Dr. Meshari Al-Nuaimi, President of MEFOMP, added that the conference theme reflects the integration of fast and smart systems aimed at enhancing patient care in the Middle East, underscoring a collective commitment to making medical operations safer and more effective.
