Amb. Al-Hazeem: Portuguese Businessmen to Visit Kuwait Next Week

Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ambassador to Portugal Hamad Al-Hazeem announced that a delegation of Portuguese businessmen and company owners will visit Kuwait between February 18 and 21. The visit aims to enhance economic, investment, and trade relations between the two countries. According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Al-Hazeem stated that the Kuwaiti embassy in Lisbon organized the visit in collaboration with the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, the Portuguese Industries Federation, and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The visit is expected to reflect the mutual desire to activate bilateral economic and trade relations, while also showcasing Kuwait's major development projects and achievements. Ambassador Al-Hazeem emphasized that this initiative is a fundamental aspect of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission, highlighting the role of Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in supporting such efforts to strengthen Kuwaiti-Portuguese ties. President of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Lui s Philipe Menezes, mentioned that the visit will include business meetings with the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as interactions with businessmen and local authorities. He noted that the delegation will consist of more than 12 companies across sectors such as civil construction, cybersecurity, tourism, security services, and legal consultations. Dr. Menezes expressed that the visit is a significant step towards bolstering economic, trade, and cultural relations between Kuwait and Portugal, commending Ambassador Al-Hazeem's support and efforts in fostering bilateral cooperation. The visit comes as Kuwait and Portugal celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. In 2023, Kuwait hosted the first round of Kuwaiti-Portuguese political consultations aimed at further strengthening cooperation in various fields.
