Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya emphasized the necessity of collaboration to address political, economic, and security changes both regionally and globally. He noted that Kuwait's leadership of the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the GCC comes at a crucial time, demanding enhanced Gulf integration. During the inaugural meeting of the 28th session of the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council in Kuwait, Al-Yahya highlighted the meeting's significance in fostering cooperation and integration among Council nations, reflecting member states' commitment.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Yahya affirmed the GCC's longstanding ability to adapt to challenges, with the advisory body serving as a vital component in supporting decision-making within the Cooperation Council. He conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressing hopes for the meeting's success, and praised His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for supporting the Advisory Board's tasks.
Minister Al-Yahya expressed gratitude to Dr. Mohammad Al-Sada, Chairman of the Advisory Board's 27th session, for his efforts that delivered constructive outcomes. He underscored the board's key role in offering comprehensive studies and strategic recommendations that bolster Gulf integration.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, emphasized the Advisory Board's significance in aiding the Supreme Council's decisions. Al-Budaiwi mentioned new directives from the 45th Gulf Summit, hosted by Kuwait last December, aimed at unifying Gulf efforts against natural disasters, developing unified policies for artificial intelligence, and addressing service integration barriers among GCC countries.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Sada, Chairman of the 27th session of the Advisory Board, stated that the previous session's work culminated in recommendations submitted to the Supreme Council during its 45th session in Kuwait. He thanked Minister Al-Yahya for hosting the meeting and lauded the Secretary-General's ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation among member states.
Al-Sada congratulated Nasser Al-Roudhan, the newly appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board, acknowledging the substantial efforts of the previous session that led to comprehensive strategic visions presented and approved by the Supreme Council. Nasser Al-Roudhan emphasized the meeting's affirmation of the Authority's crucial role in examining vital issues impacting GCC citizens and advancing sustainable development across Council countries.
The Advisory Body was established by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council's decision at its 18th session in Kuwait in December 1997, following a proposal by the late Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, aiming to expand consultation and enhance communication among member states.
