Kuwait city: Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, along with Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, inaugurated the 10th ward at the Addiction Treatment Centre following its rehabilitation, which was financed by a donation from Kuwait Finance House (KFH).
According to Kuwait News Agency, the inauguration ceremony was attended by KFH Chairman Hamad Al-Marzouq and KFH Group CEO Khaled Al-Shamlan. Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, after conducting a tour with Minister Al-Awadhi and KFH representatives, stated that the Ministry of Interior is working in harmony with state institutions to enhance prevention culture, community awareness, and expand treatment programs.
He highlighted the role of the Addiction Treatment Centre in providing care and quality services to recovering patients. Sheikh Fahad emphasized that while the Ministry of Interior firmly combats drug use, it also supports citizens struggling with addiction, indicating that treatment and rehabilitation are key responsibilities.
Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi revealed that the 10th ward expansion spans approximately 900 square meters, comprising 11 rooms with 22 beds, two isolation rooms, and one observation room. This expansion aligns with the Ministry of Health's ongoing support for the centre, initially established in 2005 with KFH's contribution.
KFH Chairman Hamad Al-Marzouq expressed pride in supporting the project, underscoring Kuwait Finance House's commitment to national and social responsibilities, and health initiatives promoting stability. Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef and Minister Al-Awadhi thanked KFH for its contribution, affirming that the partnership between public and private sectors is crucial for Kuwait's sustainable development vision.
