Kuwait Finance Minister and World Bank VP Discuss Enhanced Cooperation


Kuwait city: Kuwait’s Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, recently convened with Osman Dyoun, the World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting focused on strengthening the relationship with the World Bank’s local office in Kuwait, especially following the appointment of a new director.



According to Kuwait News Agency, Dyoun expressed his appreciation to Kuwait for its financial contributions to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. These contributions include both general and voluntary increases to the bank’s budget.



Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Kuwait and the World Bank. They identified key sectors for collaboration, including education, health, energy, and water, as areas where increased efforts could be mutually beneficial.
