Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its sympathy with Sudan following a tragic gold mine collapse in the Howaid area, which led to several worker deaths and injuries.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait extended sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Sudan. The ministry expressed its full solidarity in this painful tragedy and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
The Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources Ltd reported that at least 11 people were killed and seven others were injured when a well collapsed during an illegal gold prospecting operation in River Nile State, located in the northern part of the country.
