Kuwait city: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdulatty reaffirmed on Monday the country's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. According to Kuwait News Agency, the remarks came during a phone call between Abdulatty and his Palestinian counterpart, Varsen Aghabekian. The two officials discussed Egypt's ongoing efforts, in coordination with Qatar and the United States, to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure unhindered humanitarian aid access. Abdulatty expressed Egypt's readiness to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza as soon as a ceasefire agreement is reached. He condemned the Israeli occupation's continuous attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, calling it a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, and denounced the aggression against innocent civilians. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to expanding international recognition of Palestine and establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. For her part, Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Varsen Aghabekian expressed deep appreciation for Egypt's stance and commended the leadership's ongoing efforts.
