Kuwait Expresses Concern Over Clashes on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border


Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait has voiced its concern regarding the ongoing escalation and armed clashes in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as reported by the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.



According to Kuwait News Agency, violent confrontations have erupted along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border involving Afghan Taliban forces. These clashes have resulted in the deaths of 23 Pakistani soldiers and 200 Afghans, the Pakistani Army stated. The situation’s gravity has prompted Kuwait to call for restraint and peaceful dialogue to address the alarming situation.



Meanwhile, Kuwait’s domestic affairs witnessed significant developments as the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority referred several state officials, including a senior one, to the Public Prosecution. They are suspected of committing crimes of illicit gain and submitting false financial disclosures.



In humanitarian efforts, the 19th relief plane from Kuwait’s air bridge reached Al-Arish Airport, carrying 40 tons of food and essential supplies for the Gaza Strip. This aid is part of Kuwait’s ongoing support for the region amid current challenges.



On a diplomatic note, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Kuwait, Manuel Gamallo, affirmed the steadily developing relations between the two nations, highlighting the positive trajectory of their bilateral ties.



In the sporting arena, Kuwaiti competitor Fares Ramadhan achieved first place in the Rookie Stock category of the World MotoSurf Championship held in Croatia, marking a significant achievement for Kuwait in international sports.



In other regional news, the Qatar Foreign Ministry reported the tragic death of three members of the Qatari Amiri Diwan and the injury of two others in a traffic accident in Sharm El-Sheikh.



Additionally, in the Gaza Strip, health authorities reported that 124 martyrs have been received at hospitals over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted raids on the homes of Palestinian prisoners who are anticipated to be released under a ceasefire agreement.



Egypt also announced that leaders from 21 Arab and foreign countries, including Kuwait, are expected to attend a world peace summit set to take place in the Sharm El-Sheikh resort city on Monday.
