Kuwait Diplomat Warns Of Conflict Spillover Due To Israeli Occupation Attack On Iran

Kuwait City: Kuwait's Permanent Representative at International Organizations in Vienna and Chairman of the Gulf Group Ambassador Talal Al-Fassam cautioned Monday conflict spillover in the region would trigger bare consequences on regional and international peace.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Fassam issued the warning during an emergency session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors in response to Israeli occupation aggressions on Iran. He condemned the attacks against Iran, including those on nuclear facilities, emphasizing the critical timing as international efforts to resume nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US are intensifying. Al-Fassam warned that these actions could derail diplomatic processes and potentially ignite a wider conflict with serious impacts on peace.

Al-Fassam expressed significant concern over the escalation, highlighting the potential adverse effects on regional security and stability. He underscored that such hostilities represent a serious violation of an IAEA member state's sovereignty and set a dangerous precedent that undermines international law, particularly the respect for state sovereignty and the prevention of the use or threat of force.

He reaffirmed the GCC member countries' steadfast commitment to supporting regional security and stability and firmly rejected any violation of states' sovereignty or targeting of nuclear facilities under any circumstances.
