Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait has expressed its condolences to the Republic of Portugal following a tragic funicular train accident that resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries earlier this week. In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait conveyed its sympathy and support to the Portuguese government, the people of Portugal, and the families of the victims, while wishing a swift recovery for those injured.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the accident claimed the lives of at least 16 people and left five others seriously injured. The incident occurred when the funicular train veered off a steep track in a Lisbon district popular among tourists, ultimately crashing into a building.
