Kuwait Civil Aviation Implements Mandatory Airbus A320 Safety Updates

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced that Airbus has issued a global technical directive requiring mandatory updates to several safety-related systems on its A320 aircraft. This directive is part of worldwide measures to enhance the operational safety of the A320, one of the most widely used aircraft models. The updates may lead to limited delays or rescheduling of some flights in the near future.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, a spokesperson for PACA, emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains the top priority for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The directive is considered essential for maintaining the highest safety and quality standards within the civil aviation sector.

Kuwait Airways has communicated via its official X account that it is actively carrying out the necessary software updates for its A320 aircraft in compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The airline noted that some flights would be delayed due to these updates and advised passengers to contact customer service for inquiries.

Meanwhile, Jazeera Airways stated that its engineering and operations teams are also implementing the required technical steps to comply with the directive. The airline does not anticipate a major impact on its fleet operations or flight schedule. Jazeera Airways reiterated its commitment to safety and expressed gratitude to Airbus, PACA, and its internal teams for their swift response in implementing the updates.
