Kuwait city: Kuwait Airways has successfully installed and initiated the operation of the Runway Overrun Prevention System (ROPS) on its Airbus A320 aircraft, marking a significant milestone as one of the pioneering aviation companies to adopt this advanced safety system. Abdulwahab Alshatti, the Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC), announced in a statement to KUNA that the ROPS systems were installed recently. He noted that some upgrading processes led to temporary modifications in the operating network, specifically affecting night and dawn flights today.
According to Kuwait News Agency, CEO Alshatti extended apologies for any inconvenience that the technical modifications may have caused. He assured that the KAC fleet continues to operate in compliance with international safety standards, maintaining full coordination with the relevant authorities. Alshatti emphasized that the corporation remains committed to making safety decisions that prioritize the safety and comfort of its clients above all else.
Earlier today, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) reported that Airbus Corporation had issued a technical circular mandating the update of several technical systems related to flight safety on its A320 planes. This circular applies globally to all operators of this type of aircraft, underscoring the importance of the updates for maintaining rigorous safety standards.
