Kuwait Celebrates Victory in Arab Government Excellence Awards

Cairo: Kuwait's representative at the Arab League has announced that two notable Kuwaiti entities, Sahel and Nazaha, have been recognized with awards as part of the Arab Government Excellence Award. The awards were coordinated by the Arab League in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi expressed in a statement after participating in the award ceremony that the recognition of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) for the best Arab initiative in overhauling government tasks underscores Kuwait's commitment to fostering integrity, transparency, and accountability. Ambassador Al-Mutairi highlighted Nazaha as an exemplary model in the Arab world for establishing "a clean administrative environment." Additionally, the Ministry of Communications was honored with a government excellence award for its Sahel application, reflecting Kuwait's success in digital transformation.

The State of Kuwait secured these accolades during the fourth edition of the Arab Government Excellence Award. The ceremony took place at the Arab League Secretariat General's headquarters, attended by Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul-Gheit and Mohammad Al-Gerqawi, president of the board of trustees of the UAE award.

Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) shared the award for the top initiative in overhauling government tasks with an Egyptian information association. The Ministry of Communications was recognized for its Sahel application, showcasing the nation's achievements in electronic services.

Ambassador Al-Mutairi, Kuwait's Permanent Representative at the Arab League, presented the awards at the ceremony attended by representatives from the honored entities. In Kuwait, Nazaha issued a statement asserting that the award was achieved through the support of political leadership and the collaborative efforts of government and private institutions in the national strategy against corruption.

The awards were sponsored by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai Governor Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, in cooperation with the Arab League Secretariat General. Nazaha noted that this recognition comes as they work with national authorities on a "new strategic framework post 2025 for boosting integrity and combating corruption in Kuwait."
