Kuwait City: The Cabinet has expressed Kuwait's strong condemnation of attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces on Syria and Gaza. In its weekly meeting held at Saif Palace under the chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, the Cabinet stated the attacks on Gaza killed and wounded dozens of people, mostly children, women, and elderly.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this military escalation in the Gaza Strip is a flagrant violation of the Gaza ceasefire, and it deliberately ignores international laws and charters, mainly the UN Security Council and the quartet partners of the ceasefire.
The Cabinet called for an urgent and decisive move to stop Israeli occupation forces' attacks and protect Palestinian people, as well as ensure the implementation of relevant international commitments, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji said in a statement after the meeting. The ministers further affirmed Kuwait's stance calling for respecting Syria's unity, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
They stressed the need for the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities and put an end to the violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces. Meanwhile, the Cabinet lauded His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's speech during his visit to the Supreme Judicial Council.
His Highness the Amir was accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah. His Highness the Amir expressed pride in Kuwait's judicial system, urging the judicial authority to speed up Kuwaitization of judicial jobs. His Highness the Amir also called for putting fear of Allah above anything else, affirming that the issue of nationality is a state sovereignty right.
His Highness the Amir appealed to the judicial authority to act impartially, uphold the rule of law, and ensure the rights and freedoms of everybody, away from any personal considerations. The ministers were informed about the visits paid by His Highness the Amir, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince and Acting Prime Minister, to Nabat Poets' Diwaniya, Kuwait Sport Club for Deaf, and Kuwait Blind Association.
The Cabinet also reviewed the recommendations sent by the ministerial committee for legal affairs regarding the bill to amend some provisions of criminal procedures law, and approved and referred them to His Highness the Amir. In addition, the Cabinet listened to a presentation made by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi on the ministry's plan during the last ten days of Ramadan, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and Islamic Affairs, to ensure providing medical services at mosques across the country.
The Cabinet affirmed the need for governmental bodies to play their roles in providing services and preparing mosques to offer comfort to worshippers during the last ten days of Ramadan. It also reviewed several other topics on the agenda and approved them.
