Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Cabinet has announced that June 26, which falls on a Thursday, will be observed as a public holiday in celebration of the Islamic New Year, also known as Hijri New Year. On this day, all ministries and state bodies will halt operations, with work set to resume on June 29, a Sunday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this decision was reached during the Cabinet's regular weekly meeting, led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The Cabinet extended congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait. They expressed wishes for prosperity and blessings for Kuwait and the broader Arab and Muslim worlds.
