Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal made by Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi to hold Kuwait Sports Day on February 7, 2026. The approval was given during the Cabinet's customary weekly meeting held at Bayan Palace under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the forthcoming edition of the Kuwait Sports Day 2026 will draw participation from Kuwaiti people of all ages to achieve the goals of the sports event. At the onset of the weekly meeting, the Cabinet listened to an explanation from the minister of information about the Kuwaiti pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 in Japan, scheduled from April 13 to October 13. The Kuwaiti pavilion, which has attracted many visitors, highlights the role of the State of Kuwait in promoting arts, culture, and education, spurring innovation and entrepreneurship, and reflects the country's historical role.
The minister emphasized the significance of such world exhibitions in building cultural and economic bridges and highlighting Kuwait's image worldwide. Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaillah made a visual presentation on her ministry's social achievements and development plans. Furthermore, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari gave a visual presentation about the recent launch of an application to receive complaints as of early September to promote transparency and facilitate municipal services.
